B&N Press Rearview Review: 2025

Has it really been fifteen years since B&N Press launched?

We can hardly believe it. More than anything, we are deeply grateful to the authors who have been with us from the very beginning, as well as those who continue to join us year after year.

And what a year 2025 was. Not just for B&N Press, but across Barnes & Noble, NOOK, and B&N Audiobooks.

Let’s take a look back at an incredible year and celebrate together!

B&N Press Loves Authors:

In 2025, B&N Press hosted eight virtual events designed to inform, inspire, and connect our author community. These included dynamic author panels like Women Who Rock and insider conversations such as What’s Changing for Digital Publishing, featuring Jennifer A. Perry, B&N eCommerce Digital Director.

We also celebrated the vibrant voices of indie authors on the B&N Press Blog with 15 guest posts throughout the year. These posts delivered actionable tips, creative inspiration, and meaningful spotlights from authors including Carrie Ann Ryan, Jennifer Probst, Ciji Ware, Melissa F. Miller and many more. Each shared expertise, hard-earned insights, and personal successes with fellow authors.

Sharing your voice is one of the most powerful ways to reach readers and connect with other writers. We cannot wait to bring you even more perspectives and opportunities in the year ahead. And, be sure to sign up for the monthly B&N Press newsletter to stay up to date on blog posts, virtual events, and more author resources.

B&N Press By the Numbers:

Romance and its many subgenres continued to dominate the indie publishing landscape in 2025. With over 42,000 new titles added this year, the momentum across all genres shows no signs of slowing down.

Here are the five genres that stood out most among the thousands of new books added to the B&N Press catalog.

B&N Press Top Titles

The top B&N Press eBook of 2025 came from blockbuster author Jeneva Rose with The Perfect Divorce, the highly anticipated follow-up to the multimillion-copy bestselling thriller The Perfect Marriage.

“Clever and twisty! Loved it! It is not often when a sequel is just as impressive and fun as the original! Perfect from beginning to end.”

– Missyborse, B&N Reviewer

On the print side, the top B&N Press book of 2025 arrived in the second half of the year and proved well worth the wait. Nina’s Porter Archives: Volume 1 & 2 (Special Print) quickly became a reader favorite.

“Love the Porters! Lake is my all time favorite book bae! So excited for this release Nina’s pen game is top tier!! She never disappoints!!”

– Lovelynean, B&N Reviewer

B&N Press Celebrates NOOK:

Our beloved NOOK GlowLight 4 got a stylish refresh this year with the release of the Ocean Teal edition.

Drenched in shimmering teal, this reader favorite offers:

  • 32GB of storage so you can carry your entire library with you
  • Seamless day-to-night reading with Night Mode
  • Easy page turns using either touch or physical buttons

Growing Voices with B&N Audiobooks

We also continue to celebrate the growth of B&N Audiobooks. The program expanded significantly in 2025, with more indie authors bringing their stories to life through audio. To mark the occasion, we highlighted 10 indie audiobooks you will not want to miss.

Looking Ahead

Fifteen years of B&N Press would not be possible without the creativity, dedication, and passion of our author community. 2025 was truly another one for the books, and we know the next year will bring even more opportunities to succeed, inspire, and create together in the indie publishing world.

Write on!
