Have Fun Marketing: Who Killed Larry?

50WaystoKillLarryIf you have a good sense of humor — bring it into your marketing! This month we’re highlighting fresh, fun marketing ideas. When we heard what the authors at Red Door Reads had in store this spring, we had to laugh and share the fun.

Writing box sets and anthologies is a great way that author collectives and other author groups make use of self-publishing’s flexibile publishing schedules and formats. These formats also present an effective way to highlight each other’s work and gain new readers–and have fun in the process. We’ll leave it to the authors of Red Door Reads to share how a man named Larry unwittingly inspired an entire anthology called 5o Ways to Kill Your Larry:

Last year, the authors at Red Door Reads had a blast bringing you the Who’s Ben Skrewd? Novellas on Tax Day.

Then we went on a writing retreat together, where a not-very-professional businessman did his best–worst?–to ruin our stay.  What happened next…?  Well, we are writers! We made a vow during that week to take our revenge on the page.

So this Tax Day, we bring you 50 WAYS TO KILL YOUR LARRY, a collection of short stories in which Larry meets his end in varied, imaginative ways!

In each entry, the author finds a way to kill her Larry, whether it’s in the depths of Germany’s Black Forest during WW2, Regency England or any of today’s most exciting locations–from Caribbean beaches to a Connecticut college, New York City, Florida, North Carolina and more. There is something for every reader–historical, suspense, contemporary and paranormal. Join us to discover Fifty Ways to Kill Your Larry…Or at least ten.

The set contains:

Contemporary-

Jane Charles’s CASTING DOUBT

Dee Davis’s LETHAL INTENT

Caren Crane’s CROSS SPRINGS SCANDAL

Jerrica Knight-Catania’s WEEPING WILLOW

Michelle Marcos’s SINNOCENCE or HOW I LEARNED TO KILL MY BOSS AND GET AWAY WITH IT

Ava Stone’s ONE MORE ON THE ROCKS

Regency-

Claudia Dain’s ON THE EDGE OF A BLADE

Susan Gee Heino’s THE DELICATE PLOT TO BURY LORD LARRY

Deb Marlowe’s BEYOND A REASONABLE DUKE

And why stop there?
